Christopher Li Sheung Ying

Christopher Li has over 10 years of additive manufacturing experience, discovering his passion for the physical design world. His skill sets developed in design research, product design, and extensive 3D printing experience; have allowed him to explore the world of medical device design. He has a background in Computing Science, Business, and Industrial Design. He believes in designing ground-up, from researching the target audience to doing physical prototyping and testing. His goal is to always learn and continue to hone his skills in creating products that can genuinely impact the people around him. 

As a well-versed Industrial Designer, Chris has shared his creativity and passion through collaboration team projects in researching accessibility issues and healthcare-related challenges during his years at the University of Alberta. He also tackles what it means to create lighting product prototypes with 3D printing techniques, having the opportunity to showcase his designs at the DesignTO Prototype Festival in 2022 and 2023. 

Chris is currently the Additive Manufacturing Technician at Cube ensuring the printers and other manufacturing devices are well taken care of and functioning as they should be. Within the quality management system, he ensures that the processes developed work well or can be improved to make them more efficient. He is expanding his knowledge on organic 3D modelling and design of medical devices that are used in planning surgical cases.
